About me

My name is Lara and I am a very proud mummy to twin girls and happily married (although nagging) wife to my fabulous patient hubby and we live in a village in the depths of Surrey.

The reason why I started this blog is to tell my story about my battle with Vestibular conditions and mental illness and reach out to other sufferers, in the hope that I might be of some support in some way. I joke sometimes that I was given large sticky out ears to help me listen to people more but its true I class myself as a good listener, a problem solver! I love helping others by giving them advice on experiences I have been through, be it tips about twins, how to help yourself through a vestibular condition, healthy eating, mindfulness, mental health, meditation, pilates and a few more besides!

I am an illustrator by trade, having studied and graduated from The West Surrey College of Art 24 years ago. I love putting pencil to paper and shading, when I get the time! I have had a diverse career, starting off as an freelance illustrator, then fell into the IT industry as a major account manager/ new business development, joint owner at a graphic design agency and running a successful baby gift business called Corporate Baby which I unfortunately had to close in 2018 to better my health. I have been lucky enough to meet some amazing influential business people throughout my corporate working life, most recently Theo Paphitis , Jacqueline Gold CBE , Holly Tucker MBE etc

A lot of people say that I am a very positive and happy person, I like to think that I make the best out of life, despite things holding me back, I am not one for sitting around in my own self-pity.

I would love this blog to inspire people and give people some hope, only you can make a difference to your life but you can certainly reach out and get people to assist you along the way! Having a support network is vital. I will be blogging about my daily battle with my vestibular conditions, anxiety and things that have helped me along the way!

If you have any questions you would like to ask me please do get in touch! I would love to hear from you!

Love,

Lara x
